Be the change
Each
morning you would like to wake up expecting a day filled with joy,
enthusiasm, feeling satisfied and you know that ready for something more sort
of energy .
Does
this really happen when you are working in a corporate world and surrounded
with good and sometimes toxic people ??
Not really , but yeah “if you could be
the change” things work out well .
You will definitely find every morning a
happy one to start with.
Waking
up doesn’t just mean getting out of your
bed but it is getting out of your own way and explore yourself.
In
recent times I had become more or less a very sensitive person (which , trust
me doesn’t work in corporate world).
I felt sorry that I couldn’t control
everything that happens around me, regretted that I couldn’t correct
things and literally wanted to quit
working and sit at home doing nothing .
Not
really sure how did I think of this .guessing..that it was frustration handling
too many things at work .
I
couldn’t show frustration at work , but really felt less interested waking
up early and going to office .
It
was never a part of something that made me happy , like it did before .
It
was never the same before , may be the team change , amount of work and
responsibility made me think so much and had a thought of giving up .
Well
, one fine day during this bad break I see Deepak and as always wanted his advise and tell him about the stress level here and about moving out of work place .
Do I
really say him?
But
what ? That I wanted to quit workplace because someone at work did not treat me
good or people come to me asking too may questions , I’m unable to meet my
targets because of which.
Or
because I’m frustrated ?
What
do I tell him …ough !!!
This
sounds so silly to me,I mean yea it does of course ..!!
Finally
I pinged him because I did not wanted to walk upto him and say all this .
I
pinged saying , I have become more like regretting person and with lot of
complains.
And
he replies –“yes , cribbing girl “
I
said –“I know , but you made a mistake sending me to this team , I cannot work
with people around in this team“
His
immediate response was-“You work good and hence moved you there “
Now
this gives me some sense of achievement , but then looking people around
I
was still not happy and said I’m frustrated here and cannot deal with people
around .
And
his reply made me think about it –
“not
deal with it..but understand and change”
I
did ask him what was that change he was talking about , but then He had to
leave for a meeting and maybe he left it to me to think of and did not reply .
Change
~ I took some time but maybe understood well , with the change in team I forgot
that I am supposed to be mentally strong.
Here are few things you should try to develop
mental strength.
1. Be Grateful-
Instead
of focusing on all the wrong things that are happening in your life, practice
being grateful for what you have.
I
have read in one of Rhonda Byrne’s book that Gratitude helps you changing your
attitude from negative to positive .
Appreciate things that happens to you or you come across .
2. Don’t be afraid of change
Don’t
allow yourself to dwell in comfort zone instead try to make yourself even
better.
Try
to find opportunities and grab them.
This
is not possible unless you have faith in yourself and your ability to adapt to
changes .
Keep
reminding yourself that growth comes from change.
3. Be Patient
If
you have to be mentally strong then learning to be patient is very important .
Do
not blame yourself for what happened and don’t waste time thinking about what
could have been done .
Learn
from your mistakes and avoid similar ones in future .
Keep
working hard with your skills ,efforts and persistence then wait patiently for
the results to come .
4. Respect and Appreciate
Definitely
try not to compare yourself with others but don’t forget others have their own
way of working and own skills which could be better than yours.
Don’t
sit and wait for others opinions this is one of the sign of being mentally
strong .
Take
time to appreciate your colleagues and their achievements instead of showing
them the J factor , This way you have an opportunity to learn things from them
which you were not aware of .
Try
to mentor someone may be directly which brings out fruitful results for the
team and also help someone succeed .
5. Do not Give up
Failure
is always been part of success which definitely has to be faced , not all the
time can someone be successful.
Do
not criticize if you failed once , instead find out what went wrong and try to
correct this .
Most
of them fail to make an attempt again because they can’t take the failure at
first and start criticizing themselves or sometimes luck .
Not
this time but next time you should definitely succeed .
